Winners!

Today was the last day of regular season Spring Soccer.  Maren's team was undefeated this season and Milah's team tied for 1st.  Milah's team was victorious over a team that has been undefeated for several seasons!  The girls love to play - and it is a blast to watch them.

And the award goes to . . .

Water Polo Awards

Our poor water polo team struggled this year. To "field" a polo team, you need 7 players in the water. We had 8. However, the teams we played had upwards of 18 kids on their teams. Needless to say, we were a little outmatched - only winning 1 game. Sten collected a handful of awards tonight - he was the 2nd leading scorer and was given recognition as one of the best defensive players and the hardest worker on the team. He made the all league honorable mention team and will be madly recruiting players for next year's team. After all, who wouldn't want to swim like a dog, attempting to put the yellow ball in the net while fending off vicious attackers. Oh, I know why - cuz it's so fun to drown the opponents at the other end!

Win Some - Lose Some

Don't let that bigger girl scare you #2!

The girls competed in a soccer tournament this past weekend and they both walked away with 1st place trophies!

Milah's team did not win a single game last year, so they were thrilled, jubilant, and over the moon ecstatic to be victorious.

But, into her life, a little disappointment must fall . . .

Milah was not voted President in the election. Unfortunately, the school is predominately boys (those icky creatures), and the boys voted for the boy candidate.

It is has been a good lesson - she is the type of person that (seemingly easy)excels in everything, and sets high expectations for herself, so it is a dose of reality to be defeated. Someone wins and someone loses - that's life.

You're still a winner in our book Milah Moo! Kiss & Hug, Slap & Squeeze

A round of applause, please

Last night we attended Sten's water polo awards ceremony where he earned a Varsity letter and received the "most improved" award. Flanked by the patriarchs.

Polo Wrap-up

The water polo team made it to State but were bumped out in the first game. They weren't expected to win - but they gave it a good shot. The team they lost to ended up 3rd in the State - so they did awesome overall.

Pep talk before the game - Stennie Winnie Boo Boo (name given by his sisters) is #14

The football players wear their jerseys in the halls and "strut their stuff". Hmmm, wonder why the polo players don't want to wear those cute little bonnets (and those skimpy swimsuits)???

Go Fight Win!

Last week, we were soaked to the bone, thanks to a monsoon level downpour during Maren's game. In Colorado, we were subject to snow and sleet, and windchill factors in the teens during soccer season - but NEVER rain.

This week, the appearance of SUNSHINE made the game much more enjoyable for the players and the spectators.

Water Rat

Sten has found his "home" on the water polo team. When it's time for a goalie in the deep end - he's their man. He had a huge cheering section (thanks to the enthusiastic Swiss crew) for his best game ever.

Rah Rah Soccer!

And whose child would this be? The one who obviously can't find a matching soccer sock? Excuse me for being sexist, but Maren is struck with a syndrome that is rampant with the male species (sorry guys) - she can't find anything. This morning, we didn't have time to run to her room and assist her in "discovering" a mate to this sock, but it obviously didn't bother her a bit.

Pep talk at the half, Coach Dad lending support. Maren was fairly stoked as she scored 5 of the 7 goals. It is hilarious to watch her, as she is the teeniest one on the field but will take on an opponent twice her size, and she seems to have an innate sense (not from her mother) of ball handling. I love the look on Scott's face - obviously amused (and quite smitten) by player #2.

Go Goalie!
Milah had a game today as well, but it was a nail biter and I didn't get any photos.

Rah Rah Rah!

Milah has been waiting for YEARS to be involved in track. Today was her first track meet and although she didn't get first place, she was "hot" on their tails. We have track meets for the next several Saturdays, so she'll have a chance to smoke 'em.

Milah's adoring fans

With good 'ole Grandpa who has finally returned from Switzerland

With her french braids aflyin' . . .

One leg of the relay - DON'T drop the Baton!

Hmmm, the videographer and enthusiastic spectator would be "Grandma".
Mom gave Milah a special pillow and Milah loves it because it smells like "Grandma". Milah has now requested that Mom use it for a few weeks so she can "recharge" the scent.

This video is for the Swiss nephews!

FuN??????

One of the biggest events in our sophisticated town is a mud festival which brings redneck thrill seekers. This was the first year that Sten went - a rite of passage around these parts. It was a beautiful day and there was plenty of mud . . .

This old rig apparently broke in two

Saturday Events

Watching a teammate . . . Sten's shirt is one of Scott's old shirts from High School and is the envy of many. As a Freshmen, Sten wrestles at 119 which is a heavier weight class than what Scott wrestled as a Senior!

"Hello" Pleased to meet you Sir

Head-n-Arm, make him squirm Sten!

I declare a WINNER!
