It's NOT MINE!

We have 3 children in this home. Why is it when they are asked to pick up an item, take something to their room, or clean up an area - they suddenly claim no ownership or responsibility? It is ALWAYS the other kid's problem/stuff. Maren's latest trick is to say that she has "outgrown" the item in question - could've got it just last week, but it doesn't fit now!

All kids have brain damage, isn't that how it goes? Maybe it's me?

play 'Here comes the maid". set the timer for 10 minutes and after that you pick up anything they forgot and charge them 10 cents an item. worked for me! :)

Let's see, adjusted for inflation - that would be about .25 right? I'm not good at playing the "cop/nazi" mom - but I know things would go smoother if they were more accountable. Thank you;)

I was in the basement spraypainting - must've been the fumes but I was mulling over this "conversation". Just wish to clarify. I have no clue what kind of parent you were and was not inferring that you were a tyrant. Just saying that I'm not too good at being the enforcer. Whew! Feel better now - going back down to the basement. Over and Out!
